Another FF7 Problem

I'm currently using ePSXe 1.5.2. with "Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.76" as my video plugin, I tried running FF7 and the game works wonderfully EXCEPT that all the command menu as well as when a character talks, the words are blacked out (if you know what I mean), in other words I can't see them. I already looked at all the other threads as well as the FAQ but no luck so far someone help pls.

P.S. this problem is not present when I use "Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.76" as video plugin but it runs MEGA SLOW!

I don't know if this will help but my computer got 640 ram and my video card is ATI Technologies Inc. 3D RAGE PRO AGP 2X.

Ati 3D rage??? I thought this card also disappeared with dinosaurs....hahaha ha....hum.....Back on topic....
I suggest you to use P.E.Op.S. GPU plugin or pSX which is better suitable for your rig....hahahaha ha...hum....sorry....

Yea it's a seven year old comp that my parents threw at me for homeworks. Anywho, I took your suggestion and the problem is solved although the game is running a bit slower (not as slow as Pete's OpenGL though). Thanks a bunch! But is there a way to make the game run faster?

First try with pSX and see if the speed if a little better (it should be).Kill all back processes which can eat CPU power. Set the ePSXe process priority to "high" or even "real time".
