hi i am new to emulators how do they work and do i need to download the game to play them and what do i need to to download them plz i need help

No, you can play off of your original discs, or you can make an ISO yourself off of your original discs for better performance

Btw Just a heads up on the rules, don't talk about illegally downloading copyrighted material, as emuforums has a strict "No Warez Discussion" Policy.

So basically you're not allowed to ask where to illegally obtain copyrighted material, discuss about it in any way, and never say you downloaded something illegally, as that results usually in a thread closure/warning.

if youre doing PS1 emulation, a USB game controller is highly reccomended, or one of those neat adaptoids that allow you to use a real playstation controller on your pc.

just download an emulator, get the bios (if its psx/ps2), run the emulator, change plugin settings to your liking (psx/ps2/n64 etc), load the game disk/iso/rom and run it
