Chrono Cross - New Game Startup

I have no problems loading and running the game until I select new game... after selecting whether I want rumble or not, the screen goes black and doesn't load anything.

Any thoughts as to why this is happening? No music or sound comes through, so I don't think it's a graphical issue.

edit: Oh, I tried to get it to work properly with 2 separate disc images, both of which did the same thing at the same time, so there must be a setting I have off somewhere.

You can use ePSXe 1.5.2 or start ePSXe 1.6.0 with the -noauto command.

Thanks, that worked to fix that problem... now to figure out why it froze when I went to the character equip screen...

Enable the Odd/even bit hack in the Special Game Fixes (Every Pete's video plugin have that option), and make sure that you enable special fixes.
