pressing three keys at same time

I need to press three literal keyboard keys at the same time. How do I do that? If I press them at the same time now, they won't work.

That's actually a limitation of DirectX, namely DirectInput.

Actually AFAIK it's a direct limitation of the keyboard's hardware itself, not DirectX.

I'd recommend buying a gamepad.

Keyboards won't work this way. In native and DOS-based Windows systems at least...

Only time 3 characters can be used is when it is actually in conjunction with a function key: such as Ctrl or Alt. Examples as Ctrl + Alt + Delete [brings up Task Manager] Ctrl + Esc [brings up start menu].

Or would beep because you are performing "illegal operation".

Nah Hardcore Rikki, its a problem with keyboards, and it doesnt happen with all keys, its just certain combinations. For example i can press a shift + s + d + k + n at the same time, thats 5 keys, but i can't press a + s + d + f or down + right + d for example.

Try to change your keys somewhere else. For example if your using the arrowkeys changed them to WASD or UJHK
