Metal Gear Solid disc change problems.

So the game works perfect, i even used the reccomended settings found here... perfct that is until i have to change the disc, and then the sound completely dies. Attempting to save at this point to memory, codec screen locks up. Alternatively attempting to save to state. Then reload emu, no sound in this process either, continues to hang when using the codec screen. Drivers are up to date, tried several different plugins with the same issue. Is there anyway i can continue playing this masterpiece classic psx game in a manner where the codec screen wont lock up? Perhaps someone here knows a fix for this disc change error that i dont? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

did you properly change the disc?

which is to say, did you press exit, and to go File-->change disc?

This is a legitimate problem; one I experienced when I played the game recently. I can recreate it by using the P.E.Op.S. sound plugin. Even with the appropriate MGS-specific settings, the sound dies and the codec screen locks up after switching discs. No problems with the Eternal plugin though.

did you see what Allnatural said? use Eternal SPU.

if all else fails, you can post a memory card save of the end of disc 1 and someone will pass it and save inside the blast furnace.

Thanks for the help, first time i tried eternal SPU it had the same problem, fooled around with the epsxe spu thats included and then P.e.o.ps, just seeing if either would possibly work. All failed at that avenue, then i tried eternal again checked to make sure the plugin was working correctly, and it worked just fine. Now im on disc 2 and enjoying this classic of a game yet again.
