Vagrant Story problems

Could someone pls help me?I need help configuring the graphics and sound plugin settings that are best for playing Vagrant Story.I use Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.8 and Pete's DSound Audio Driver 1.15.The display is ok,but there's just this element of flickering and a little freeze or stutter once in a while.
The sound is not so bad too,the music score plays well,it's just that the monsters in the game sound a little like gibberish,it's not clear.Pls help.Thanks.

128MB (dedicated) ATI Radeon Xpress 200M
AMD Turion 64 1.8GHz
1GB RAM
100GB HDD
Latest version of directX
Latest ATI Catalyst drivers
