Still a black screen for FF9

I have been trying to use different settings to get FF9 to work but I keep getting a black screen. I've used both ePSXe 1.5.2 and 1.6 but the results are the same. I've tried changing my cd and graphic settings and I've also tried several different patches for my PAL version. I am currently using the default patches from 1.5.2 but nothing changes. My console does not report any problems and the BIOS works fine. I have tried my FF9 on my PS and it works fine. I have a P3 866 MHz and SiS 300/305 32MB graphics card and 256 MB of ram. I am using Pete's D3D driver. Street Skater is the only game that works. Gran Turismo has a black screen and the PC freezes.

Still the same problem. If this might help anyone, the pec logo does not appear on the top right hand corner, as it does with other games, when I start my FF9. I'm using pec by the way. This might indicate that there is a problem before the video driver actually starts.
