Need For Speed

Hi all,

My first post so go easy on me....

I am trying to run Need For Speed (the very first one) and having problems.

I have set up epsxe with the necessary plugins and can load the disc but the game seems to get stuck when the controller is required.

There is a language selection page before the intro movie - I cannot select anything and it will eventually timeout and default to English.

The intro movie then plays fine and the game's frontend will eventually appear.

Again, I cannot select anything here and the menu eventually timeouts and the screen blanks. At this point I think it is trying to run its attraction demo but then the emulator freezes.

There are no errors in the console box.

I have tried the only other game I've got (Raiden) and this works fine so the controller is properly configured.

I have tried different sound, graphics and CD plugins with no further success.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried pressing F5 key? check here.

the game's simply not working. I think it does in an older version of ePSXe, though.
Forgot the specifics.

Download the older version of ePSXe, or try the other PSX emulator like PSXeven, pSX, etc. Do I need to teach you how to download them?
