framerate problems with suikoden

hi,only just started using epsxe n i'm kinda new to emulation.

basically i made an iso file outta my us copy of suikoden and i can't get the damn thing to run properly.

the framerate is up n down all the time, causing the sound to slow down n go all wierd.i'm only using all the basic psx stuff to my knowledge, not trying to add fancy emulation effects.but nothing i try works.

my pc has- AMD Athlon 64 2.2 gig Processor
1gig DDR400 RAM
256MB Sapphire Radeon X800 Pro Graphics Card

could someone please tell me how to stabalise the framerate on games to keep them at a constant, thanx

actually i have the framerate thing sorted now,i am however still a bit confused as to why the sound sometimes still skips a bit.

i am using the P.E.Op.S. DSound Audio Driver 1.9,what are the most reliable settings with this plugin??

i havent got around to buying a proper sound card yet, just using basic pc sound.

is there a better sound plugin to use for someone in my situation, because when i got myself Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.8 it fixed the framerate no probs.

Yes.
Use the Eternal SPU and set to SPUasync, Smooth with a buffer of 32.
