Chrono trigger problem

Hi, i'm having problems with Chrono Trigger at a certain spot. I've read the forums for other threads and couldn't find this problem. When I reach the point where you have to kill Alzan or something like that the reptite leader. Well i kill him and lavos falls and leaves a time portal there. I read an faq because i didn't know if i needed to go in there or not because this is where my problem starts. When i try to enter the portal my game just totally freezes up and i dont know what to do. I've tried different video plugins and configs (sound plugins too dont know why it would be this though). Can anyone help me

Config:
Epsxe 1.6.0
Video - Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.76
Sound -P.E.Op.S. DSound Audio Driver 1.9

ok nm i fixed it i used a memory card converter and switched it to psxeven
