-nosound, CreateDirectSound! errors !HELP!

I am playing LUNAR: THE SILVER STAR STORY and when I try to load my state (which has been working for a long time) it says to try playing it with -nosound and when i use other plugings it says CreateDirectSound and the game will not load unless I play the game on mute. I would like to play with sound plz help. I can't post my computer specs and my epsx specs either like I see on other posts. How do you do that?

what says to load it with -nosound......?

if you load off save states you might not have sound, that's the nature of save states.

try using the eternal SPU

It says that on EPSXe I load the ISO and bam! I am hit with that error. But when I turn enable stereo sound off, it works just fine and I can load my state.... but no sound.

Now i found out my soundcard a conexant ac-97 has trouble playing MIDI files? why? I have tried reinstalling the driver.

dont load off save states. like i said, when you load a save state, there can be a loss of sound. load off the memory card and you should get sound.
