Nero and many people ahev and will said thi s is a horrible iso producer for running games most wont work although its great for software and just regular backups.

Use slysoft clone cd or i think husy recommends alcohol 120% anyways just dont use nero any version.

Clone CD is not free but the trial version will get you started just fine i used it to do my FF7 disks which are near screwed lol. As for taking copy protection out i dont know and its not something we discuss.

However try it out make your iso's its actually gonna produce four files youll mount the larger of the 4 the .img file in epsxe but if u are intending to burn a backup if your disk dies then youll need all 4 files as i recently found outmyself.

Clone CD will copy a copy protected game but remember this is for your personal use and better performance int he emulator, so no illegal piracy okay!

Nero is fine for burning dvd movies or data dvds its just not for backing up games!

this is what hushypushy said in a similar thread.

anyway, let's break it down. the .img is the meat. that's where all the data is. the .cue is the cuesheet, that tells whatever program you load it in where the data is, for example, what file is the image and where the CDDA audio is. it also helps with burning to determine like what size the sectors are, in some cases. the ccd is the cloneCD format cuesheet file. and the .sub is the data from the subchannel. for the most part, yeah you only need the img for emulation. if you're gonna burn it, you should have ccd and img.

however, if you're going to be making backups, just put the disc in and tell it to copy, it does all the work for you. check out this guide for more details.

judging from just those questions, get ISObuster. it's free, and i already made a pictorial guide (link in the post right above this).

PSX games only have copy protection insofar as they have a specific area of deliberately corrupted data that a real PSX checks for. all programs (yes, even CloneCD and Alcohol) attempt to rectify that data---that's why you cant play backups in your PSX (well, there was a thing developed to get around that but that's a story for another day..and no im not talking about mod chips). anyway, the only copy protection you have to worry about is a couple NTSC games and a few PAL games that have copy protection. for that, all you need is the subchannel data (cloneCD can help you out on that). most games dont need it though, so dont worry about it.

jet moto doesn't have copy protection, read what i already wrote. it only has copy protection on the real PSX, which checks for that corrupt-on-purpose data. emulators don't check for that. and, like almost every single NTSC U/C game (99.9% or something), since the game doesnt have copy protection (which would require a PPF patch or subchannel data), you can just make a regular ol' ISO.

It doesnt matter when you play it on a PLaysation it looks for the "copy protection" which the method i wont repeat. Without the required data thegame will appear invalid.

The emulators dont check to see if the games valid or not it just plays it!

ohhh ok i see.

So thwe copy protection had nothing to do with those unrecoverable read errors?
What are those unrecoverable read errors.
it had like 100 of them throught the whole log

Those errors are corrupt data which are made so the users won't be able to copy Cd-s.

The iso was made with nero but it didnt load in epsxe. Is it because of those unrecoverable read errors or because of nero itself?

I got the 'disc has copyprotection' message all the time, but that doesn't mean your error is because of the so called 'protection' or whatever. Have you checked you disc for scratches or fingerprints?

I know it's a simple suggestion, but sometimes these simples things are forgotten.
