ff9 problem

Hi
Hopefully i haven't missed a post where this problem has already appeared.

I'm using ePSXe v1.5.2 and petes d3d drivers 1.76

Everything has been working fine, great even until i got to disk 3.
It first started when i tried to fight Tantarian in alexander castle. As soon as the little blue blob casts bio he freezes halfway through. The attack bars for my characters continue to move and it lets me choose fight option but doesn't finish off his spell. Eventually i gave up fighting him and moved on, but the problem came back agaisnt grand dragon when he tries to cast thundaga and even if i try to cast water with Vivi.
I tried different driver plugins but only difference i could get was that ePSXe would crash instead of freezing

Anyone else had this problem

You didn't download the game did you?!! If you didn't, try to rip the game to your HD.
