Final Fantasy 9 - My first Attempt with ePSXe

Hi

FF9 will not go on my PC (WinXP Pro SP2, Radeon 9600 Pro, Pentium 4 2,0GHz, 526 DDR Ram). I put the BIOS for PAL (scph9002) in the bios folder. I use the P.E.Op.S. Soft Driver 1.17 as GU and the Eternal SPU Plugin Lite 1.41 for sound. I also took Xeven's CDr Driver 0.93.... everytime i put the Original FF9 Disc (PAL) in the CD Slot and want to run it with ePSX (settings from above) it comes to a black screen... plz help.

Where can I dowload the patch... and is this (patch) necessary for all games or is FF9 an exception?

I believe it's needed for a good portion of the PAL releases. NGEmu has a PPF section but for some reason, it's not working. You can either search elsewhere on the Internet or you can make your own patch using the P.E.Op.S. CD plugin.

I haven't tried it myself as I don't have any games that require it but I don't think it is very hard to do. The hardest thing would be setting up the whole plugin so that you could use it to rip the data from the CD. Once you do that, all you should have to do is point the plugin to the CD drive with the game in it, name the file whatever you want it to be, then click the "create subchannel info file" button at the bottom.

Try setting the read mode to BE_2, that's the most common one, or you could do what hushy listed above .
