FF7 freezes during Yuffie's Bonus quest

I'm running the game on epsxe using an .mdf file, at the end of Disk 1 right now and I decided to do Yuffie's sub-quest. I got all the way to the end and the game freezes up whenever Don Corneo gets to summoning RAPPS. Do you think waiting till Disk 2 to do the sub-quest will solve the problem? Anything else I can do?

This is a known problem with the pirated version floating around the Internet. The rules forbid piracy so I'm closing this.
