DAEMON - Some Bin's do, some BIN's don't. PLEASE HELP!

Hello there... =o)

I am having trouble mounting images of my PS games into the DAEMON virtual drive. I have made image files with a number of programs such as Blindwrite, CloneCD, Alcohol etc., and I get the same results with all of them.

The thing is, some BIN/CUE files mount, but most of them don't. When I go to mount most of them it just makes Windows Explorer freeze for about a minute and then say that it can't read the disc. Is there some secret setting I don't know about? The DAEMON help files say it wont work unless it's an EXACT copy of the original disc, but I've tried image files from all the programs they recommend and do the subchannels and all that stuff to make sure it's a 1:1 copy, but still no banana...

Any thoughts? Examples of games that mount are Tenchu 1 & 2, Tekken 1-3, Bushido Blade. Examples of ones that wont mount are pretty much everything else...

Any help appreciated =o)

Well personally I use Daemon tools and Alcohol 120%

I have the same problems. Some mounts work in Alcohol that Daemon Tools doesn't like while others just work in Daemon Tools and some work in both programs ^_^

So basically, if you know the game would work, use two programs. Pain in the butt - yes. But it is worth it, if you don't wanna burn CD's or use the original all the tme.

Well I make all mine with Alcohol too (well just recently started) But I have some backed-up on some DVD's that are in iso and bin format from a loong time ago, so I don't always want to have to convert them. Thats the reason why I use two.

Alcohol has treated me very wel with my psx games But when it comes to Dreamcast and a few PC games, it doesn't always work well. But if yor just doing psx games it should work great.

Would converting my BIN/Cue's into ISO's change anything?

Does alcohol's virtual drive mount BIN/CUE's made by other programs (ie blindread)? If, so, I might try that as a virtual drive...

Alcohol can mount just about anything (thee are a few exceptions though) Hell, you can even mount files that it says you can't and they still work

Anyways the format really doesn't change anything. I have worked with iso, bin, ccd, nrg, mds, cdi, and about every other imaginable format. It is really what you like. As with Clone CD, it makes a few files so if you don't mind that then it just may be fr you. With iso it is generally al lot cleaner with only a single .iso file.

When you say Dreamcast, do you mean ripping the games or mounting them?
