Final Fantasy 9 Freezes

On the first disc when Zidane and his crew leave on the airship at Dali the game freezes at the FMW scene. This happened running the CD and also running the ISO (not at the same time). Help please.

Plug-ins BTW are (let me know if these are these optimal for my system)

Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.74
ePSXe SPU core 1.5.2.

and I use ISO's now because ASPI and my DVD+R drive don't seem to mix.

Sorry.... How can I make this game look better.

Please use the search funtion next time, this question has been answered 34895734793487 times before. ePSXe 1.6.0 doen't work with ff games when playing cutscenes that involve both FMV and game engine graphics, use ePSXe 1.5.2 instead. About making it look better, post your configs, just the plugin won't say much.

use ePSXe 1.5.2 for the ENTIRE game, please. that way you wont run into awkward problems with freezing.

you should use Pete's OGL2 (video), and Eternal (SPU). it doesnt matter for CDR because you are running off an ISO

it should work just fine with 1.5.2, it has for everyone else.

anyhow, post your plugin settings. you can almost get the battle swirls to look right if you put on the right settings

Gorteus, if you have epsxe 1.5.2 and 1.6.0 in different folders, remember to copy every other file but the exe from 1.6.0's folder to 1.5.2's. If you are using a ppf patch it's possible that you didn't copy it to 1.5.2 folder. Alternatively, do as me and simply have both exes in the same folder, name them something like epsxe152.exe and epsxe160.exe and use wichever you prefer. If you are using a frontend, rename the one you are gonna use to epsxe.exe, and you are done.

Okay so i'm running 1.5.2...

I'm having the same freezeing at the airship. I do belive this problem isn't due to the version i'm running. Everything else works great including the music and battle swirls. So what is really going on?

Read the sticky at the top of the forum, don't use save states, try other emulators (not just ePSXe), etc.
