Problem with FF9

Hello,

Im trying to get my FF9 to work since a while now, meanwhile im really out of ideas tho.
My problem is that the Cds dont seem to load, im getting the starting screen of FF9 ( can select start/save game and also got music etc) but as soon as i press start im getting the message that i should put Cd 1 into the drive ( before anyone asks i do have Cd1 in my drive hehe).

Im using Epsxe 1.5.2 with Pets Open Gl drivers 2.6 and Petes Dsound Audio Drivers 1.15.
Cd rom plugins i tried are Sapus Cd-rom plugin 1.0,Peops CDR driver 1.4,Epsxe CDR Core 1.5.2, also tried some others but cant remember wich ones right now coz i deletet most of them again.

im using the ntsc version of the game.

It happens with my original discs and my burned discs/isos and as a lil sidenote i already had it working like 6 month ago but had to format and lost my settings etc.

Hope anyone can help me coz im really out of ideas, thx in advance =)

well if your FF9 is actually starting up...and it asks you to load your game...and then tells you to put in CD1...maybe that's what it wants? you say that you already have disc 1 in there, but it wouldnt be giving you the error if it had disc 1 already, would it

hehe, that what puzzels me too.

I can see that my drive isnt doing anything at all, it just start up once for a second ( to load the menu i guess ) and thats it.
It gets the menu up with all 4 cds tho, but never gets past it

i dont have any savegames for it anymore to try if its just cd1 thats broken or if it dont works with all cds.

have you tried making an image of the original cd and running it right off the hard drive?

here, try this save state, i think it's from cd 3, not certain though.

thx for the save Dogfeet, i also found another one with saves for each cd.

I can load all savegames exept the ones for CD1, so i guess my first Cd is broken/damaged

, cant see any scratches or anyhting else on it tho..

oh and yes i tried running an iso from my hd, didnt work either.

Can U tell me where did you find that saves! I have problem with cd1 when cinematic goes (after Zidane touches Garnets butt).It simply freezes!

Maybe that save could help me! THX!

please be using ePSXe 1.5.2., and you might want to make an ISO out of it. furthermore, try not using save states.
