FF7 Slow movies only
Hi my problem is driving me insane.
When using epsxe 1.52 to play ff7 the movies are insanely slow. I Have an insanely fast computer so i dont understand why it does not work. The in the game it runs fine. :cuss2: I cannot upgrade to 1.60 because then my chrono cross does not work. :cuss2: I have tried lowest settings new plugins and to no avail nothing changes. Please help |

sounds like your cd rom drive's accesstime is slow.
try making an iso, solves my slow cd issues.

check out www.lordkane.co.uk for your guideline.
maybe your CD is scratched, you need a different CDR plugin, or you have a slow drive so make an ISO |

However, I have placed my video settings on fast and there was no difference. HERES A STRANGE THING right before it loads the first fmv. The screen gets all messed up on th right hand side for a sec or two. Anyways thanks for your concern but I still have not been able to fix it. Please reply |

..your problem is just hte screen getting messed up for a second before the first FMV? that's it?
to be honest, i think that's part of the game, i recall that from playing on the PSX. |

I'm pretty sure he was just saying that was a problem in addition to the slow FMVs and he probably wanted to know if they were somehow connected.... and they probably arent.
It's probably just your CD/DVD-ROM drive. Make an image of the game using Clonecd, Alcohol 120 or ISO Buster and try running from that. Then, report back with how it worked out for you and we can further diagnose the problem. Until you try this we can't rule out your CD Drive. Also, your video settings are hardly optimized for FFVII, so you'll probably want to review Kane's site and some of the other threads here about the game. Since you have a GFFX 5900 you should be able to run Pete's OpenGL 2 plugin which would most likely give you better quality. I also don't see a reason why you can't use ePSXe 1.6... all you have to do is unzip them into different folders... |

uhh, i dont know about everyone else, but chrono cross works fine for me on 1.6.0, just use the "-noauto" command line.

well, if your using epsxecutor, then go to the configs options and put -noauto where it says cmd line. if not, then right click on the shortcut, and put -noauto in the target box, after the quotation marks.
