Ok when i got into a battle the swirl goes but the sound goes laggy like choppy and the swirl lags and when you go into the battle the sound is still lagging then its normal then after the fight when you go to the experince menu it lags again until you close it , every single time its very annoying , is this something to do with my sound settings? or graphics settings?

I've had the same problem on a couple of computers, one being a school computer, the other a friend's computer. What are your system specs?

Pentium 4 , 3GHZ
512MB PC 3200 RAM at 400MHZ
Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB
Sound Blaster Audigy 2
120GIG HD

I think those specs are more then enough but it still doesnt run perfect

assuming that your drivers are all up to date it should work perfect.

try Sapu's CDR driver-- it autoconfigures.

use the Eternal SPU with stock options.

and use Pete's OGL2 with these settings:

the sound lag is due to the fact your system is slowed down to a crawl due to your video settings.

in pete's ogl2, set framebuffer effects to 0, and framebuffer upload to 2

in pete's ogl1.75, set framebuffer texture to 0, and framebuffer access to 4.

that should make your system not lag.

Ok i tried your set up with open gl 2 , 2.5 and the game looks horrible the battle swirl didnt lag only a little bit on the experince screen but the game looks like crap.

I then tried it on Open GL 1.75 the game also looks crap and the battle swirl is wierd doesnt do it right.

The game looks good if i put texture filtering to 6 but then i get the green lines and no battle swirl.

I tried the game on d3d but when i put it on 0 and 4 the game exits to desktop

Damn looks like ill never be able to play this

so any way here are the specs for the plugin im using and the game looks very crappy.

Full Screen Mode = Checked
Desktop Resolution = 640x480
Color Depth = 32bit
Texture Quality = Bester Colors , More Ram needed
Texture Filtering = 4 Extended with out sprites unfilterd 2d
Hi Res Textures = 0 none
GFX vram = 128MB
Use FPS Limit = Checked
Auto Detect FPS LIMIT = Checked
Off Screen Drawing = 3 Enhanced Shows more stuff
Frame Buffer Textures = 0 Emulated VRAM needs vFVP
Frame Buffer Access = 4 , Full software drawing
Alpha Multipass = Checked
Mask Bit = Checked
Advanced Blending = Checked
Special Game Fixes = Checked , FF7

Open GL2.5 works good it just looks really bad

There's only so much you can do with Playstation graphics, use a high resolution and the textures are made up of giant squares. Solution: Use TV-Out.

Mind posting a picture of this terrible blockiness? I keep hearing people say how terrible it looks and I'm curious what exactly they're seeing.

Let's not forget final fantasy 7 looks like trash in the first place, to say nothing about it's emulated form with pixelated backrounds.
