FF8 problem

whenever i get into a battle i dont see any battle menu what is the problem? everything works except i have to guess my actions

Set OffScreen Drawing to 3.

Config > Video > Pete's Video plugin (D3D or OGL, whichever you want, though OpenGL is better).
