Unhappy Final Fantasy 7 Problems mainly the game looks horrible

Am i the only one that final fantasy 7 looks horrible? Firstly ill post my specs.

Pentium 4 , 3Ghz
Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB
512mb pc 3200 ddr ram
120gig hd
Sound Blaster Audigy 2

Now i tried playing final fantasy 7 on OpenGL and D3DX6 1.75 but they both have green lines in the backgrounds so does OpenGL2 turning off the 2xsai filter to 0 or 2 gets rid of the green lines but now the game looks like crap.

I also have to put the filter on unfilterd 2 to get rid of other green lines. Ok so now all the green lines are gone but the game looks like crap the player models look nice and the ingame battle but the backgrounds dont look good worse then the playstation. I dont have any graphical settings on in the control pannel FSAA or AA etc thats all off. Also in 1.75 both the games battle swirl doesnt work it lags with sound then goes into the battle changing the buffer fixes this but it still doesnt do the swirl thats why i use GL2 but using GL2 2.5 theres a white line on the left screen :/ it only goes away if i lower the filters.

Ok so here are my settings i use with Petes OpenGL2 , 2.5

Pete\'s OpenGL2 Driver 2.5

Full Screen Mode = 800x600 Color Depth = 32
Internal X resolution = 1 , High Standard
Internal Y resolution = 2 , Very High
Texture Filtering = 4 Extended with out Sprites Unfilterd 2d
High Res Textures = 0 , None
Use Pixel shader for PSX = Check Marked
Use FPS Limit = Check Marked
Auto Detect FPS = Check Marked
Off Screen Drawing = 1 , Standard
Frame Buffer Effects = 3 , Full
Frame Buffer Upload = 2 , Uloads full VRAM Area
Screen Filtering = Checked Marked
Shade Effects = 1 , Full Screen Smothing , 2 , More
MDEC filter = Checked Marked
Special Game Fixes = FF7 and Fixes Black areas

Eternal SPU Plugin 1.41 = Sound

ePSXe CDR WNT/W2K core 1.5.2. = CDROM

Bios = bios\\SCPH1001.BIN

No matter what settings i use the game looks like crap , can any one please tell me wich video plugin to use and what settings to use to make this game work good and look good? please help thanks

sorry for the triple posting but i had to post a new msg again.

Now i followed those instructions and they made my game look worse i used what he used petes opengl 1.75 plugin , i then tried petes d3dX6 1.75 plugin and then the game looks much nicer but there are a few problems.

When going into a battle swirl it lags for a second with laggy sound then its fine also when in a battle the top of the screen has a bar filled with rainbow colors this only happens when using smooth screen the game looks crappy with out it tho , the movies play fine and look great.

So im going to try Peops driver or how do you spell it fiddle around with that and if worst goes to worst ill just buy it and play it on my ps2

Good lord, it doesn't sound like you followed my instructions at all.... tell you what, post the OpenGL configs you ended up using and explain to my why it looks so crap and I'll try to tell you what you are doing wrong

i followed your instructions exactly and it looked like crap , so i did them on the D3DX6 plugin and it looked good but the battleswirl lags with sound also going into the menu and every battle has a rainbow color bar on it.

Too many problems so i deleted the game ill just buy it and play it on my ps2 again when im bored one day

Yeah... I actualy asked you to tell me what your config settings were, not how crap mine are.
You still haven't furnished me with this information, so it's kinda hard for me to freaking help you.
Use the 'Copy Info' button to paste it here.
