Chrono Cross

Hi,

I had a lot of problems trying to get Chrono Cross to initially work. I managed to get it to work by enabling Odd/Even bit hack on the special game fixes for the black screens and lowering ePSXe version to 1.5.2 to make the 'element' function run in battles.

Due to my PC lacking processor speed-wise i do not get my hopes up when trying to emulate. My pc specs are:

Dual processor;
Processor x86 Family 6 Model 5 Stepping 2 GenuineIntel ~451 Mhz
Processor x86 Family 6 Model 5 Stepping 2 GenuineIntel ~451 Mhz

Total Physical Memory 523,824 KB
Total Virtual Memory 2,064,108 KB

I am currently running Chrono Cross under the following GPU settings:

Plugin: Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.1.75
Author: Pete Bernert
Card vendor: ATI Technologies Inc.
GFX card: RAGE 128 x86

Resolution/Color:
- 640x480 Window mode
[32 Bit]- Keep psx aspect ratio: off

Textures:
- B8G8R8A8
- Filtering: 0
- Hi-Res textures: 0
- VRam size: 0 MBytes

Framerate:
- FPS limitation: on
- Frame skipping: on
- FPS limit: Auto

Compatibility:
- Offscreen drawing: 2
- Framebuffer texture: 0
- Framebuffer access: 0
- Alpha multipass: on
- Mask bit: off
- Advanced blending: on

Misc:
- Scanlines: off
- Line mode: off
- Unfiltered FB: on
- 15 bit FB: on
- Dithering: off
- Screen smoothing: off
- Screen cushion: off
- Game fixes: on [00001000]

I do not enable sound to make game-play run a little smoother. I have tried running it in smaller windows than 640 by 480 but I did not notice much of a difference infact I think it makes it slower for some reason.

Anyway, I was wondering whether someone knows exactly what the "Mixed software FB access" in the special game fixes does and if u think it would make a difference with my current card? ^^

I would also appreciate any suggestions on better configuration for my current computer for this game? I get slow downs in battles. Enabling frame-skipping makes it very very choppy expecially in battles due to the drop in FPS

Thanks
