Metal Gear Solid CD2 not loading!

I'm at the end of CD1 of Metal Gear Solid (I'm using epsxe 1.60, previous versions won't work either.) When I'm prompted to insert disc2, I change to an ISO of CD2 or insert CD2 (with the usual epsxe disc change procedure) and press start. The disc seems to be accepted but soon afterwards epsxe freezezs with a black screen. I've never had a similar problem with FF9, Chrono Cross, etc.!

Does anyone have a solution?

If not, could anyone send me an epsxe save state just at the beginning of disc2 (After it actually loaded, NOT on the "Change Disc" screen!) I'm playing on Normal difficulty, thus a save state with this setting and without any cheating would be appreciated!

I could also email you my latest save state just before going down the stairs after beating Sniper Wolf, you change to disc2 and email me back the new save state.

I'd really be grateful if anybody could help me!!!

the email: caraman48@yahoo.com

Thanks a lot!!!

why dont you just post....a memory card of when you beat sniper wolf? those are like 3kb.

by the way, in my experiences, save states dont work with MGS. whenever i load em, there's no sound

One guy tried to help me the way you mention, hushypushy, but it didn't work. The problem I encounter seems to be caused by both CDs being different revision numbers.

I'd really need a memory card or savestate from someone just at start of CD2, memory cards found on the web work fine with my second disc, but I couldn't find any save at the beginning of CD2.

My CD1 save won't work on CD2, no matter what I tried.

If anybody out here has a savegame I'm lookimg for (Normal difficulty) please send me an email: caraman48@yahoo.com

Thanks a lot!

Well I'm only playing on easy, was gonna beat each skill level twice this time over. I'll start a normal game tonight or sometime early tommorow.

Edit: Which ending do you want? Meryl's or Octacon's?

It probably won't work but I want to be sure that what Tandur said is true.
I'm posting my memcard and asking if someone can continue my game and save on CD2. Maybe it will work with me ?

Here's the URL to download my memcard :
http://membres.lycos.fr/laliho1/epsxe000.mcr

Please try to help me, I'm after the Sniper Wolf fight, you'll just have to go in the hangar and go down the stairs.

Thanks. (But it's not important if you don't want to help me, I'll take Omen's save )

If it helped you thats good, But there was no reason for you to revive a 3 year old thread.

you are absolutely right! however, i had to waste 25 minutes browsing posts after i searched "metal gear" in the forum. it would be more if i hadn't knew some of the ideas offered in other threads would be useless. now, this is one classic game. there are better chances that people will still play this game in years to come then say... huh, a spyro title.

this is a very popular problem regarding metal gear. and since it is the only solution i found working i thought it deserve a little bump. and a thanks.

You can use memorycards created by ePSXe in many other emulators (PSXeven, SSSPSX, PCSX, pSX, Xebra)
so you can swap the disc there and continue playing with your save.

Anyway as Rockfire pointed out this is an old thread and reviving is against the forum rules.
