A problem with FF7 that doesn't involve sound...

I'm near the very beginning of the first disc in which you're in Tifa's Seventh Heaven bar place... When you come back up from the pinball thing, it makes it as though you just walked into the bar. I don't know if that's how it's supposed to work, since I can't remember. None-the-less, I can't "talk about the money" with the big black man. When I try to talk to Tifa the first time people go down into the secret hide-out, I can't because Biggs' imaginary body is still there and I get dialog from him. I can't figure out WHAT the problem is, and I'd really like to get out of the beginning of the game. Can someone help me out? >_< I know it seems sort of... hard to understand the problem, maybe.. So all in all, I'm stuck in the beginning because it won't let me go through the sequence of talking with them about, well, "the money." Aaaaaaaany help?

Ok its been some time since i played this game. But i remember that when u try to leave the bar then that starts a dialogue(spelling) with Tifa bout helping them out or something. So try to leave the bar and see if that helps. Thats a guess on my part. hope this helps.

I've been running around everywhere and I'm not getting ANYTHING... Just Tifa saying "Please, Cloud..." and the guys down there repeating everything they've said before. I'm really stuck...

hummmm... did u already rest in the basement of the bar. Or is it just when u first come into the bar.

I went into the bar, gave the flower over to Tifa (since she jumped the gun in thinking it was hers anyway...). Big Black Guy came in, we went into the basement because I couldn't get over to Tifa for some reason even though she tells Cloud to... So I made fun of the Big Black Guy and then said I was going to get my money up at the top. I go up on the pinball thing, and I appear as though I've just entered the bar. When I walk over to talk to Tifa, she just says "Please, Cloud..." So I went down and talked to everyone but Biggs, because when I try it makes me talk to Big Fat White Guy instead... So I went back up and nothing's happening. I leave, run around like an idiot... Still nothing.

Did you try leaving the bar? I'm pretty sure that's what you're supposed to do.

I thought when you come up the pinball elevator that you're on that when it loads to the new area/the bar... But rather, it blacks out and comes back, putting me at the inside entrance, like I just walked in, you know? Maybe that messed up the Event... But.. how would one fix THAT? I dunno... That might not be the prob.

I've replayed it four times in fury. I haven't been this ticked off at this stuff since 1.6.0 didn't play FF9's ending right!

"Barret asks Cloud if anyone from SOLDIER was there during the mission. Cloud
replies that if anyone from SOLDIER was there, Barret wouldn't be standing here
right now. Barret gets pissed off. But as I've said before: walls, table
lamps, and cereal bowls piss Barret off. Anyhoo, instead of taking out his
aggression on Cloud, Barret kicks Biggs's ass for no good reason (well, he
shouldn't have been standing there!) Tifa comes down and calms Barret down
before he destroys the whole damn place, however. Then you go back upstairs to
discuss your money. As you head for the door, Tifa comes back upstairs and asks
you to please join AVALANCHE. When you refuse, Tifa yells at you and accuses
you of walking out on your childhood friend."

Yadda yadda, long story short.. She's not asking me to "please join AVALANCHE"... Hrm... Help?

Are you using an ISO by any chance?

try usinf PSXeven an PCSX, swap GPU-SPU-CDR plugins (try anything that claims to be PSEmu specs compliant), make an ISO, use VGS... And if everything, EVERYTHING fails, then you are screwed man :/

One other thing u can do is post ur saved game (before u go into the bar) over here and maybe we can get u past that part.

I switched it to 1.5.2 and it let me advance... THEN when you enter the train to do the next mission, the little guy runs away off screen and you don't move.. So I had to switch it back to 1.6.0... >_< So I think I've got it, thanks for the help.

It won't varify that I need to go through the gate to go up that large tower that Barret's fighting on with the crew... The gate's closed, and the save thing is inside the gate. *scowl*

i know its been solved but about the first problem, i actually seen this before and it really made me angry and well i got no clue exactly what caused it but that i soem how glitched the game and a gameshark caused it but the weird thing is that even with a gameshark i never saw the glitch again after that day that i witnessed it so i am assuming it was just some weird glitch that was caused some how.

How to solve your problem (?)
You need to go into the store plave where the kid inside offers his bed to you to sleep, something like 10 gil. The clerk on the bottom says something like come back tomarow because a guy upstairs wants to talk to you (Tutorial). So after you sleep and then go to the basement in Tifa's bar and take barret's money, you go to the store clerk again and go upstairs (The guy with the dog and the gates, that area). I have FF7 Greatest hits which often is not compatable with most codes, Action Replay codes are compatable thou. My AIM is Lucidtomr if any of you care to chat more about problems like that, or screen shots. I haven't beaten the game, I have only been as far as the Gold Saucer.
