I'm having a problem with 2 games
Every time I try to run Persona 2: Eternal Punishment or Dragon Warrior 7 I get a blank screen. At first I thought the images I made might have been bad, so I asked a friend to make me them (I made the images before I left home so I wouldn't have to take my PSx to school with me) and test them to make sure all 3 images (1 for Persona 2 and 2 for Dragon Warrior 7) booted up, they did. Once I got them thou all 3 images wouldn't boot at all. Here's my config for ePSXe.
Plugin: Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.1.75 Author: Pete Bernert Card vendor: NVIDIA Corporation GFX card: GeForce3/AGP/SSE2 Resolution/Color: - 640x480 Fullscreen - NO desktop changing [32 Bit] - Keep psx aspect ratio: on Textures: - B8G8R8A8 - Filtering: 4 - Hi-Res textures: 2 - VRam size: 0 MBytes Framerate: - FPS limitation: on - Frame skipping: off - FPS limit: Auto Compatibility: - Offscreen drawing: 2 - Framebuffer texture: 2 - Framebuffer access: 3 - Alpha multipass: on - Mask bit: off - Advanced blending: on Misc: - Scanlines: off - Line mode: off - Unfiltered FB: off - 15 bit FB: off - Dithering: off - Screen smoothing: off - Screen cushion: off - Game fixes: off [00000000] I've tried three different version of ePSXe (1.6.0, 1.5.2, and 1.2.0) and none of them work. I've also tried PSXeven and I get a blank screen also. Oh when I try to run Dragon Warrior 7 I do turn on the fix for it in the game fixes menu. |

hehe, opps. I forgot to say that I have tried a bunch of different configs. I've tried every GPU plugin I could find. I even tried using a different system_cnf from another game. Oh and I also forgot to say that the debug in PSXeven gives me a warning about not being able to locate a psx exe file, and gamecode found: NO_SYSTEM_CNF.
What's strange thou is I did test the images before I left home, and all 3 of them booted fine. The only thing I've done to my system since then was install new drivers for my vid card, and yes I did go back to the ones I was using when I tested these images. Anyways, sorry I forgot to bring the rest of this stuff in my first post. I have a bad habbit of always asking for tech help when I'm half awake. ![]() Oh hehe...I should probably post my system specs. p4 1.8ghz 512 MbRAM GF3Ti200 using 30.82 dets (yeah - yeah I know the drivers are outdated, but these drivers give me the best preformance without much lose to image quality out of all the drivers nVidia has released) Turtle Beach Santa Cruz Winxows XP |

I'm having the exact same problem with my ePSXe - there are three games (Simpsons Road Rage, Dance Dance Revolution I, Dance Dance Revolution II) that cause blank screens and lockups. I've tried all different configurations with CD-ROM and Video, and I've tried Daemon Tools to mount the ISO files.
Interestingly, image files that were archived from original Playstation CD's (not DVD's) work correctly with ePSXe. The three games mentioned above are from DVD (NTSC) discs. Could the ISO files from the DVD's need unlocking or something of the sort? Has anyone had any luck running these games on different emulators? I'm using XP, Pentium 1.7Ghz, 512MB RAM. Your replies are greatly appreciated - thanks again. - Mark |

@Yaaj: It sounds like an image problem to me. I don't know your reasoning for not having the original CDs with you(outside of "you didn't want to bring them to school"), but without them you're likely to be unable to play the games. Have you ever managed to run a game on the computer you're using now? Last edited by seph29; June 12th, 2004 at 18:25. |

Psxeven works fine with Persona 2, and Epsxe will work fine if you use the Kazzuya GPU Plugin.Grab it from: http://www.kazzuya.com/It's old now but is a good soft plugin. The savestates don't make any errors...
