Final Fantasy 9 Graphics and old ePSXes

I get a frozen scene at the end of the game, Final Fantasy 9. I've just read the thread that tells me to use ePSXe 1.5.2 for this game, and I'm wondering-will I have to play the game over from scratch again, or can I transfer save-points or memory card info from 1.6.0?
the video freezes <SPOILER!>
when Zidane goes back to save Kuja.

Hmm... well you can use the mem cards on the two emulators, as they follow the same standard. you could even try PSXeven with the memcards. Also, if you experience these kinds of freeze problems, try not to use savestates (although i never had problems with ff9 and savestates...)

Also, try playing it with the original Cd, instead of the ISO, if you are doing so.

you can transfer save states/memory card saves/plugin info/all that good stuff between ePSXe versions. i did it all the time, because i played FF9 on 1.5.2 and the rest on 1.6.0
