FF8 speed problem

Whenever I cast Holy, or the battle transition starts, I get a big loss of frame rate. I currently have my ISO on a 5400 rpm FAT32 drive. You guys think it might help if I moved it to my NTSC 7200 rpm drive?

This cast prolly shows effects that are too heavy to handle for your specs, the only thing you can try is lowering your settings in the emu... or overclocking your hardware
(though I won't be responsible for any damage caused)

Agreed. It has nothing to do with your HD. Look to decrease the resolution in the GPU settings, and other major things that would affect speed. Have a go at using Pete's D3D driver if you're not already doing so..

The battle transition on FF8 is known to be slow. As for holy..... meh, dunno.

I have same problem, so I'm sorry I can't help you. Once I tried lower OD: effect was fast, but buggy.
