Problems Viewing Ending Parts of FF IX
*Possible Spoilers*
After playing for months, I finally defeated the final boss. However, to my dismay, I found that there is a video problem when viewing the final parts of the movie. It happens during the first few parts of the ending, when the airship crew is about to pick up Zidane and gang. I tried it on another com, and got past the area only once. Then...When zidane decides to remain, and has to dodge the Lifa Tree's branches, the pixels become horrible, as in you can see Zidane's arm in pixels. The screen then goes grey, and there's nothing I can do to get rid of it. Both computer are using the same Specs, except mine is a Ati 9200, and the second one is a nVida(sp?) GeForce 2 Card (64 Ram). I am using the CD to play, and the CD is not an unlicenced copy. Stats for mine. Plugin: Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.5 Author: Pete Bernert Card vendor: ATI Technologies Inc. GFX card: RADEON 9200 SE DDR x86/MMX/3DNow!/SSE Resolution/Color: - 640x480 Window mode - Internal X resolution: 1 - Internal Y resolution: 1 - Keep psx aspect ratio: off - No render-to-texture: off - Filtering: 0 - Hi-Res textures: 0 - TexWin pixel shader: off - VRam size: 0 MBytes Framerate: - FPS limitation: on - Frame skipping: off - FPS limit: 60 Compatibility: - Offscreen drawing: 2 - Framebuffer effects: 3 - Framebuffer uploads: 1 Misc: - Scanlines: off - Mdec filter: on - Screen filtering: on - Shader effects: 0/1 - GF4/XP crash fix: on - Game fixes: on [00001000] Any help will be appriciated. |

I finally got it working after talking to a friend of mine.
Solution: Use ePSX 1.52. Use a save state before the "buggy" parts on 1.60, then load it on 1.52 to play. It is real laggy and sketchy there, but once you get past the error parts, save again using save state, before loading it on 1.60. There are a few parts with errors, so be sure to use save state often! |
