[?] FF8 crash

My girlfriend was playing FF8, she got the place right before you go to the great salt lake. When she tries to go to the lake the game goes black like its loading it and never comes back. Shes running 1.5.2 her graphics are fine. I used the debug room to get by a part for her. The only side effect of that was that now riona is able to be in the party. I dont think this should affect it. but any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a savestate at the last point where you can do anything before it here

You playin off an ISO or the game CD's?

game cds, i tried ISO though so not working to well.
