Blast Chamber Controller Problems and you dont know jack freez

I have blast chamber and all, everyhting works, sound video ect. but the controller does not respond. Anyone have any suggestions? I configred my controller numberous times. Everything i can think of. perhaps a patch? I have no probs with like legend of dragoon, fft, metal gear solid, namco vol 1 n 3, gran turismo 1, ect.
also sometimes, my you dont know jack game freezs at different times randomly..all i got there good backups of the games, i know, i did them and tested them all.
