i find that changing the fullscreen resolution to 1280x960 is the best thing you can do for this game. gets rid of the green lines. also, try changing offscreen drawing to 4, fb texture to 0, and fb access to 4. turn on "mask bit" and make sure you have the special game fix for ffVII enabled [00000801]. this is what works for me, and believe me when i say that this game works better than any other on my machine.

Set Filtering to 4. FF7 doesn't like any 2d filtering at all

with an FX5200 you are gonna want 640x480 fullscreen. 1280x960 is gonna slowwwww.....you....down........a lot.....

you also might want to try 0 filtering. it looks PSX style

if you want the swirls try (kane's settings):

- Offscreen drawing: 4
- Framebuffer texture: 0
- Framebuffer access: 4

plus special game fix for FF7. FF7 also works very very well with OGL2 (well i love it), if you want the config here goes: http://www.ngemu.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45533

This runs FF7 (and alot of other games I might add) perfectly with the sole exception of the "battle swirls", meh. As an added bonus, said games look much better than they ever did on the console, espically Xenogears.

.....turn off dithering. you dont have 16bit screen colors, so turn it off. you can get battle swirls, try OGL2 or go to www.lordkane.co.uk for good FF settings
