FF9: Disc4 ending... problem

Okay. I have been playing FF9 on ePSXe 1.6.0 (because I don't have a PS anymore). I really like the game so much that am determined to complete it and see the ending.

I've got to Disc4 where everyone goes away on cid's ship while Zidane goes back to rescue Kuja. Just at the point where Zidane says, "Here goes nothing." and then he sees twines from the tree crashing at him (FMV) - that's where my game halts. There doesn't appear to be any scratches on the disc. Has anyone had this problem before? I really can't get past this weird glitch.

Try using ePSXe 1.5.2. 1.6.0 has issues with FF9

What?

You telling me that all those problems I been having with epsxe 1.6.0 is common? Wow! Ok. I'll tell you how I survived through all those game crashes, and the end of disc2 FMV behamat-vs-brame crash. It's Game State Saves. Someone on this forum told me about the F1,F2,F3 keys. Wow! I love them. They got me through FF9 fast in double time! - with help of Pete's FPS unlimiter/limiter.

Just only one major problem is the FMV crash of end of disc4 Zidane-rescueing-Kuja. But I'll try epsxe 1.5.2 to check it out. Cheers guys!!!

Btw: I think I'll make my FF9-fan site with my epsxe game state saves of "favourate memorial parts" of the game. Like when Garnet cuts her hair off, the destruction of Alexander, Zidane got depressed when he found out the truth from Garland, cool Kuja parts.

Hope game state saves work for 1.5.2 from 1.6.0 and vise versa.

they do. all versions, AFAIK are compatible and i know for a fact 1.5.2 -->1.6.0 works. btw i dont see why you are so surprised that 1.6.0 doesnt work. they fixed a bunch of stuff in 1.6.0 and just a couple things broke. big deal; use 1.5.2.

I'm also surprised you made it as far as you did thrashing save states. Save states aren't nearly as reliable as memcard saves and are prone to corruption.
