Final Fantasy IX Freezing up in a movie sequence

I have been playing FF9 fine up until tonight. The game was playing fine till it cut to the movie sequence and then like 4 secs into it, it froze. All of the movies have played fine up until this point. Im using ePSXe 1.6.0. Is there a patch out there i need for this issue?

Post your specs and your plugins. Have you tried using an ISO?

There's a bug with FFIX FMVs on ePSXe 1.6.0. You should switch back to 1.5.2 just to play this game.

I had the same problem a few days ago, and using ePSXe 1.5.2 solved it completely.

village of Dali, eh? to extend on what boltzmann said, use 1.5.2 throughout the entire game, to free yourself of further problems

i have been using 1.5.2 but the FMVs are still stuttering (both sound and video)
i've tried multiple 3d, cdrom and sound plugins
is there any other fixes available?

additionally i was wondering if perhaps sub channel caching was the issue, and if so, which mode should i activate?

make an ISO with subchannel data, thats your best bet. upgrading your videocard drivers is good too

hmm. i like Alcohol120% and CloneCD. im assuming you are in the PAL section of the world, and the game is copy protected. you are going to need to make an ISO with the subchannel data as well.
