Final Fantasy IX - render sequenze problem

Hi,

first of all : Please excuse my english if it gets bad, I'm from germany.

now here comes my problem :

In Final Fantasy 9, on CD 1, when I want to get on the flying ship, that would take me back to the castle (you know, that thing at the village where those things that look like vivi are produced), there is a render sequenze. now in THAT sequenze, (when the ship flies "into my monitor") it begins to "lag" and finally stands still, the sound is playing the same thing again and again and so on. the PC didn't crash (I still can leave the game by esc) but the game won't go on. And beacuse theres no way to skip sequences I can not game on
I'm praying that somebody can help me, cause I NEED to play that game

my config :
I'm playing using a .bin file of each cd, (and yes I AM owner of an original version)

plugins :
video : Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.75
sound : P.E.Op.S. DSound Audio Driver 1.7
bios : that PAL version of the bios (can't remember the number Oo)

and ePSXe 1.6.0

please please please help me

Here's something else :

on CD 2 after I escaped from the castle with the princess, I get to these mountains. Now, when I did that thing with the story the old guy wants me to tell, theres a render sequence and after that, when the group moves on to another screen, the screen gets black and the next screen doesn't load. (I still can leave with esc)
I already checked the help file. It sais it can be because of me using save states, so I tried again from my last mem card save, but - same thing.
Then it sais it could be "MDecs related" , now wtf are MDecs and where (exactly) do I disable this ?
Or are there other things I could do ?
