Re: Final Fantasy IX

ok followed your guide, i got it running but now ff7 and ff8 run much slower then before, and the graphics are not quite as good. i was previously using the PEOPS psx soft gpu, and this was very good for these 2 games, but if i try that ff9 wont run. is there any way i can get all three running smoothly on the same config, or will i need a different config for each game??

Re: Final Fantasy IX

ok tried epsxe 1.5.2, exactly the same problems as 1.6.0, nothing changed whatsoever. also, in both versions ff9 runs slowly and with some glitches in the graphics. more specificly, the fmvs run fine, sound matches perfectly etc but the actual game is slow and all text boxes and menus etc look slightly buggy.

Re: Final Fantasy IX

there is. try this:

Plugin: P.E.Op.S. Soft Driver 1.1.15
Author: Pete Bernert and the P.E.Op.S. team

Resolution/Color:
- 640x480 Window mode
Stretch mode: 0
Dither mode: 0

Framerate:
- FPS limit: on
- Frame skipping: off
- FPS limit: Auto

Misc:
- Scanlines: disabled
- Game fixes: off [00000000]

maybe you need to update your videocard drivers and you will get better performance.

Re: Final Fantasy IX

Hmm.... if it's running slower and looking worse in OpenGL, I'd suggest, as Hushypushy said, that your video card drivers are not properly installed.

Re: Final Fantasy IX

what type of videocard do you have? make sure you installed the correct drivers. sounds odd but ive seen people trying to install completely wrong drivers.

Re: Final Fantasy IX

Go to display properties (Right click on desktop > Properties > Settings) and it should say something like 'Plug and play monitor on xxxx'

Re: Final Fantasy IX

ok back, i checked my video card. it sez "plug and play monitor on SiS 650". i checked in device manager under display adapters and it says this is working perfectly. there is another item in there "S3 Trio32/64" and it says this is not working properly. could this have something to do wif it???

Re: Final Fantasy IX

It means you have an onboard card (that sucks) and a PCI graphics card which isn't in use (that's no better) That's where your problem lies methinks.
