No sound with Legend of Dragoon

I'm using a .bin for Legend of Dragoon, and I haven't been able to get sound out of the cutscenes. I'm using Eternal SPU Plugin 1.41 with the first three checkboxes enabled. With the plugin specific settings, none of the checkboxes in "Special Game Fix" are checked, and with Misc, only "Wait for XA Buffer is free" is checked. Anyone know of a way to fix this?

I haven't gotten sound with PEOPS 1.6 either.

Re: No sound with Legend of Dragoon

I used ISOBuster to make the .bin

Do I need the SCPH7502 bios perhaps? I'm using 1001.

Re: No sound with Legend of Dragoon

well scph1001 has worked perfectly for me with every game, so i dont think that is it.

this may sound like a stupid question, but are your speakers turned up and all that? is the game even supposed to have sound? does it work when you play it off a CD?

Re: No sound with Legend of Dragoon

I'm just not getting sound in the movies. I did get an error at the end of making the .bin with ISO Buster. I did the "replace with User Data all zeroes" option.

Eh, its not really a big deal. I would like sound in the movies, but its not major.

Interesting this problem is because sound works perfectly in FMV but not normal cut scenes. I was wondering if lowering the buffer would work (a long story of thought)... however; that is not the case. Still working on it lol

peace.

Hmmm, never did.

edit: Its probably something with my .bin files for LoD. Since other FMVs work perfectly in other games, it would seem strange that this one would not work because of some other cause.

PC:
5900 FX 256mb **brand new weee early xmas gift to**
sound blaster audigy 2
512mb ram

Windows xp pro

Spec's I am using with epsxe:

Pete's Open GL Driver 1.74 full "nice" settings

Eternal SPU Plugin 1.41

This may be alittle off the subject but regarding my Graphics card is Pete's Open GL Driver the plugin i should use?

Do you have the top three boxes checked in the Config Sound window (not the plugin config window, the Config Sound window that you get when you choose Config->Sound in ePSXe)?

AA means Anti-Aliasing, a technique that reduces the appearance of "jaggies" in games (the stairstep effect on objects). You will find where the setting is located by right-clicking on your desktop, clicking "Properties", clicking the "Settings" tab then clicking the "Advanced" button. I haven't used a nVidia card in a while so I don't quite remember where to find those settings so just look around for them . Make sure you turn off AF (anisotropic filtering) when you play PS games, it doesn't have any effect on the graphics and will just slow the game down. You could also try Pete's OpenGL2 plugin, it will run very well with your video card. Here's the settings I use for it (you can crank up the settings if you want)

Plugin: Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.3
Author: Pete Bernert
Card vendor: ATI Technologies Inc.
GFX card: RADEON 9500 Pro x86/MMX/3DNow!/SSE

Resolution/Color:
- 640x480 Window mode
- Internal X resolution: 1
- Internal Y resolution: 1
- Keep psx aspect ratio: off

- Filtering: 0
- Hi-Res textures: 0
- TexWin pixel shader: on
- VRam size: 128 MBytes

Framerate:
- FPS limitation: on
- Frame skipping: off
- FPS limit: Auto

Compatibility:
- Offscreen drawing: 1
- Framebuffer effects: 2
- Framebuffer uploads: 2

Misc:
- Scanlines: off
- Line mode: off
- Screen filtering: off
- Shader effects: 0/1
- Game fixes: off [00000002]

Here's some pics of my sound settings (every game I've tried sounds perfect).

Was is Legend of Dragoon which needed SCPH7502 to run properly? I think it's the only game out there which is BIOS dependant. See if that works. Also have a look to see if there's any change if you switch back to 1.5.2.
