Sex, Parasite Eve and ePSXe
First, sorry for nitnipicking about such a small problem, but I could use some help.
I have just found a used copy of Parasite Eve, and it's working nicely with my "old" ePSXe configuration. But the graphics of the characters aren't vey good. I have attached an image file to this post with the image I see in the game. The scenary and the movies look amazing, but I don't know if the character's graphic could be better. I am using ePSXe 1.5.2, with E}{'s Soft Driver K6/P1 MMX 0.98 as my Video Plugin, in this configuration: Blit Mode: VMEN -> VMEN stretch blit - fast, if supported, very slow otherwise, interpolated on NVIDIA cards. Software blit setup: Nothing Game specific options: -Short DMAchain check - On -Flip odd/even flag each read - On Video Mode: 32 bits (fastest) - Fullscreen: On - Refresh rate: 0 Framerate Control: - FPS Limit: On - Frameskip: Off - Smoothing: 2.00 - Max speed while screen is disabled: On - Max speed while screen is still: Off - Try to reduce screen update lag: On - Show FPS at startup: Off Engine Setup: - Synchronize framebuffers (slower): On - TW log: Off Also, my computer is a Pentium 4 with 2 GHertz and 256 of RAM, using Windows XP, with a 64 DDR NiVIDIA GeoForce4 MX 420. It's not the "top of line", but it works very well for most stuff. Sorry if I did something too newbised, and thanks for your attention, EDIT: And sex. Yep. It's nice. Re: Here am I again...
I just started playing this and figured I'd search here for any issues or optimal configs, and found your thread. Luckily, I just passed that first bit of the game and recall exactly how it looks for me.
Your graphics aren't looking good largely because of that video plug-in. Get Pete's 1.74. Mess around with the OpenGL plug-in's settings (performance will be about the same, but image quality is better in OpenGL for NVidia-based cards, usually).
