problem with (ff9 again) near end of cd3
ok near the end of cd 3 of ff9, after i beat the silver dragon, and after i beat garland, and according to gamefaqs right before kuja comes to fight you, the game freezes, no music, no nothing, for me. i've tried this with the retail game, kalisto's release and a iso i d/led off of a newsgroup, all 3 to no avail. anyone else recieving this problem? if not is the epsxe team working to fix the many ff9 problems running amuck? if so i guess i can wait til the next release, but since i never got to play this game during when it came out i'd really like to continue, lol. oh yeah and the cd i use are all clean.

Dude here me out!
Tell ya what. ePSXe has along way to go before every plugin is right. I garuntee it will never even be right. To many complications. They would have to basically write a code for each and every video card ever made and that wont happen. They say you get the best out of nVIDIA. No...Not at all. You will get the best out of ATI. I run ATI Radeon 9800 Pro XT. Fastest card on the market. I also run an ATI Radeon 9200 128MB DDR on my other PC. Works wonders too. But you also gotta realize. When they update one Emu. It effects games. So you really should download them all cause each one is different. Good luck.

ROX_kodak that was a completely and utterly useless post. you do realize that this guy isnt gonna go out and buy a new video card for this? Lord Kane (www.lordkane.co.uk) wrote settings for tons of games with a GeForce3 (yes, Nvidia). his ti4200 is more than enough for this game.
louietsang, try lowering your resolution a bit. 1280x1024 is quite high. siegfried was also right about using ePSXe 1.5.2. an important thing: try not using save states at all. see how that works. |

Considering it was only recently that ATis were able to play PSX emus as troubleless as nVidia users, I really don't know where that came from.
A geForce 2MX is adequete for ePSXe, so a Ti4200 in more than adequete.

Hello ya idiots.
I never stated that he should buy an ATI card. And trust me yalls cards compared to mine. Are lil outta league. My card is the fastest card on the market not to mention has far better graphics than yalls ****ty ass nVidia cards. Dont talk to me about cards and computers. You'll lose your drawers before you make it to the finish line my friend.
P4 3.06 2gig Ram Ati Radeon 9800 Pro XT And all very well overclocked. I work with computers for a aliving. I will always know much more about them than you. Good day. |

You obviously are an ATi fanboy and don't realise that you don't need a **** hot graphics card to play PSX games.
I too work(ed) with computers for a living, and it doens't automaticaly make you more knowledgable. In fact with the way you are saying it, it makes you sound like a complete arse. If you want to continue this conversation, go to the ATi vs nVidia thread, and make some decent arguements rather than 'it's better becasue I say so'. Demigod and Chrisrayt would pull you apart for crappy little arguyements like that.
