Optimum Xenogears config?

Is there any configs that work well with xenogears? I'm having trouble getting it to run, it either runs REALLY fast, slow, or normal, but it fluctuates a lot. I've put in a framerate limit doesn't seem to help much.

Also the game always freezes right in the beginning where Fei goes *huff* *huff* and the screen shatters for a battle, this is my main problem. Any suggestions for configs or certain plugins I should use? I've switched between Pete's drivers, and had the most success with Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.74. But still always freezes.

I'm running a 1.4ghz, 512mb ddr ram, 32mb video memory computer. Thanks for any help.

I'm sorry - I saw the down after the fact. Although my id is a bit older, I'm new here. So where would I go about finding the information that Lord Kane keeps saying I can find on his now unavailable site?

Well in the meantime you could try using the premade xenogears config included with my frontend (it's from elly who wrote that guide
