FF8 ppf patch ?

Ok, FF8 isn't running from CD (other games do).I read in the manual that there's a ppf patch needed to play it on epsxe 1.5.1 (that's the Version i got). Can any1 tell me where i can get the patch ? I have the german PAL version of the game.

Re: FF8 ppf patch ?

You need to use subchannel read for the Ger version IIRC.
There's a guide on my site.

Re: FF8 ppf patch ?

The flickering is probably your offscreen drawing setting. Try plying with it. As for hte graphics, it may be that you are running in a low rez, or if you are talking the textures I don't think there is much you can do if you've followed my guide as the PSX doesn't look fantastic to begin with.

Re: FF8 ppf patch ?

Oh, my rez isn't low (1152x864)! Maybe it's cuz of the game (PSOne has no good graphics). Oh, can u tell me how to create ISO's ? It doesn't work with WinRar.

EDIT: Oh, and can sum1 pleaze tell me how enable Music in Rockman X4 (I already tried the param -noseekinxa, but in 1.5.2 it doesn't exist and in 1.2.0 it doesn't work!)? I got the Japanese ISO. Or could sum1 tell me where to get the PAL version (maybe German )? Of course the ISO, not the Original CD !

EDIT2: Ok, the textures are fine now and the flicker dissapeared, BUT the Backgrounds and models are in a resolution of 320x240( I now play in 1280x960). Please HELP !

Uhhh.... are you running in software mode?
The backdrops can't be enhanced much as upping the size of a 2d picture will do diddly squat for the quality.
The 3d Models tho should be enhanced by any 3d plugin. They will move as if it were 320x240 (they seem to jeck a lot), but this is due to the lack of sub-pixel accuracy in the PSX itself and can't be fixed.

asking for ISOs is forbidden here...read the rules what plugin are you using for sound?

EDIT: think of it....if you downloaded your ISO off the internet it has probably been rip of its music to make it smaller. just get an original CD. always works better

Oh, the OGL2 Plugin (Pete) works gr8 with the backgrounds but the flicker is always there and the textures of the models are a bit pixy. I'll try sum other configs.

I'm using the default plugin from epsxe 1.5.2 ! Oh, and i don't think th@ the music was deleted, cuz the ISO is 556 MB large and i found the XA's in the ISO.

EDIT: Oh, is there a good sound plugin for FF7/8 ? Cuz the sounds/music is VERY SNES like. Any good plugins to use ?

Re: FF8 ppf patch ?

The best sound plugin for the FFs is probably Eternal 1.41.
