Weird FF8 problem
I have a weird problem with Final Fantasy VIII (PAL):
The game runs well but it's in French although it's supposed to be an English version (at least the manual is in English and I didn't buy it in France). I have tried creating ISO from the CD, but it doesn't make any difference. Is there an English language patch or something? |

Does the game provide a language selection option? And did you buy it used? cause the manual might not be the PAL version...

There is no language option in VIII . I've got the original game (PAL) and completed it. The manual for me is in English and so is the game. You have either downloaded a French image thus lying about owning the original CD or there has been a mixup, which i seriously doubt.
As for patching. Ive never seen a PS patch that translates an entire game.

I got to try the game on a real PS today and found out that it really is a French version, although the package indicates otherwise. This means the store is to blame for selling a French game without mentioning that it's not in English.

Well in that case You're well within your rights to send it back to the shop for a refund or replacement, as they haven't given you the product which you paid for.
