Star Ocean 2 Setup problem
ok, having some trouble with a game. I ripped my (store bought) copy of Star Ocean 2 to my computer to play it in ePSXe. I set it up with the following video/audio settings:
<Video> Plugin: Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.1.74 Author: Pete Bernert Card vendor: NVIDIA Corporation GFX card: GeForce4 Ti 4200 with AGP8X/AGP/SSE2 Resolution/Color: - 800x600 Fullscreen - NO desktop changing [32 Bit] - Keep psx aspect ratio: off Textures: - R8G8B8A8 - Filtering: 0 - Hi-Res textures: 0 - VRam size: 0 MBytes Framerate: - FPS limitation: on - Frame skipping: off - FPS limit: 60 Compatibility: - Offscreen drawing: 1 - Framebuffer texture: 0 - Framebuffer access: 0 - Alpha multipass: on - Mask bit: off - Advanced blending: off Misc: - Scanlines: off - Line mode: off - Unfiltered FB: off - 15 bit FB: off - Dithering: off - Screen smoothing: on - Screen cushion: off - Game fixes: off [00000000] <Sound> Eternal SPU Plugin 1.41 I Enabled Sount I Enabled CDDA Sound I did not Enable XA sound I did not Enable SPU IRQ hack In configure I set SPU IRU - Wait CPU action option because it was recomended for Star Ocean 2 Now, during game play, There are some minor display errors (such as the title screen bugging a bit) which i can live with. However, the video for the cinema takes a while to load, even off the hdd, and is off sync horribly with the sound. I've tried various frame rate settings and other sound configurations, but i cant seem to find something that works. Please help me ![]() PS: I did a search on start ocean 2 in this forum and found nothing useful, sorry if this indeed a repost that I did not see during the search. |

Re: Star Ocean 2 Setup problem
Try disabling Screen smoothing.
Try enabling Unfiltered FB updates Try Defragging Try a different CD plugin. In Eternal (I assume you are using Eternal) what mode are you using? I reccomend Timer ratehr than SPUAsync.

ok, did what you listed. also set it to auto detect the FR. the opening cinema (before the menu) works fine and syncs up great. but after choosing settings for a new game (i dont know if you have ever played this game), the opening cinematic doesnt start. the sound plays, but is very very choppy and buggy. i can skip the cinema but i worry if the others in the game will be the same way.
any ideas? |
