Chrono Cross Speed Problems

first post for help
I am using 1.5.2. over 1.6.0. because of the other speed problems with that version. Anyways, I am unable to receive good speed with using Plugin: Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.1.73

- FPS limit: Auto (the FPS is at 60)

Compatibility:

- Framebuffer access: 3
- Alpha multipass: on
- Mask bit: on
- Advanced blending: on

Misc:
- Scanlines: off
- Line mode: off
- Unfiltered FB: off
- 15 bit FB: off
- Dithering: off
- Screen smoothing: off
- Screen cushion: off
- Game fixes: on [00001080]

I experience excellent in game movement and text, but rapid battles and movie scenes with distorted music because it is going too fast. Also the FPS is always at 28-30FPS. I get a bit of a slowdown in music when entering status screen. The problem is if I lower the FPS and limit to 17 I get good speed on the cutscenes but slowww gameplay. (even at if I lower to 30 i get same problem as if it was 60) Finally is there an option to make the text more legible in battles and after them? It is very distorted.

My CPU is
-PIV 1.6 Ghz
-256ram
-64 GeForce2 MX400
-SoundBlaster 5.1
-52x CD rom drive

Re: Chrono Cross Speed Problems

The text looks crap because you have both Textures Filtering and High Res Textures enabled. The two are kind of exclusive - you either set Texture Filtering to 0 and High-Res Textures to 1 (2xSai), Texture Filtering to 2 and High-Res Textures to 2, or leave High-Res Textures at 0 and play around with the Texture Filtering options.
