Re: FF Tactics
The sound plugin is internal and hasn't been updated since 1.5.2

Re: FF Tactics
Trying Astroduck's specs resulted in a decent run of the game (I don't know why the hell I left the aspect ratio on), however when I tried to load my save, it was running rather slow (10-30 fps) so I decided to turn frame skipping on. That proved to be fine, except sometimes in the menu, I get garbled junk, and sometimes the map will disappear (but the dots will stay... odd). I know my graphics card sucks (it says it's a model 64, but the thing's only 32 MB) but I know I should be able to run practically any PSX game at near perfection on a PC... of course, I'm not taking GPU optimization into effect... but oh well. I still get a little lag on skill usage too (note, GPU specs the same as Astroduck's, but with Frame Skipping on).

Re: FF Tactics
I tried using PEOPS as another post suggested, but there are effects missing and whatnot (I kinda like seeing rain when I got onto a rainy battlefield)...
Also, I know people don't run this thing with frame skipping, but that makes it rather difficult for a 32MB graphics card (oh college, why must thee beist so expensive?) that came with my computer to properly show a decent speed to this game... however, there might be a way... no, there must be a way. I have 640 meg of RDRam which is supposed to be really fricken good... anyone got any ideas?

Re: FF Tactics
Frame skipping can be a blessing or a hinderance... it all depends how the graphics react to it...
This problem is giving me just as much trouble... I'm calling any GPU gurus out there to perhaps give me a ball park specification (somewhere under Astroduck's, somewhat of a happy medium) as to what either of us should try. Frame skipping is obviously needed with our pitiful set ups... so is emulation not going to get any better, or will I have to wait till I get to college and get my twice as fast comp with twice as much graphics memory?

Re: FF Tactics
PEOPS isn't perfect for 3d games like tactics... and you need certain settings in order to get most graphics which is why you need the OGL plugin... but I'm not sure of the best settings to use on that one without frame skipping so that it's perfect...

Try this...
Plugin: Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.1.73
Author: Pete Bernert Card vendor: NVIDIA Corporation GFX card: RIVA TNT2/AGP/SSE2 Resolution/Color: - 640x480 Window mode [32 Bit]- Keep psx aspect ratio: off Textures: - R8G8B8A8 - Filtering: 5 - Hi-Res textures: 0 - VRam size: 128 MBytes Framerate: - FPS limitation: on - Frame skipping: on - FPS limit: 60 Compatibility: - Offscreen drawing: 3 - Framebuffer texture: 3 - Framebuffer access: 4 - Alpha multipass: on - Mask bit: on - Advanced blending: on Misc: - Scanlines: off - Line mode: off - Unfiltered FB: on - 15 bit FB: on - Dithering: off - Screen smoothing: off - Screen cushion: off - Game fixes: on [00010400] Same speed whether in window or full on my specs... should work fine on yours. Almost PERFECT!
