Megaman Legends sound problems

I just started playing Megaman Legends and, no matter what I do, while the characters are talking the sound cuts out so I can't hear what they are saying. It's really irritating to be in the middle of a cutscene and have that happen. I have tried various sound plugins but to no avail.

Re: Megaman Legends sound problems

Do your sound and cdrom settings match these? [1 2 3]

Async may not be the best option. For some reason, XA seems to run behind during the cinematic sequences... I should try other settings later.

Oh, and is it an original pressed version, or a copy? If copied, what was used to make the copy? I had XA problems with a bad copy of Megaman Legends 2, usually leading to the game freezing during the briefing before the first mission. I had no such problems with the original, nor with a CCD copy.

Ya, my settings match those, though I also use Eternal's also and prefer it. I'll have to try changing from Async to something else. My copy is burnt, and I'll admit it is pretty crappy (i.e. burnt on to surplus, low-quality CDs using Nero and practically no knowledge of PSX CD burning), but I have not had problems on my PSX since it's modded, but I have no idea whether that is relevent. I have tried using and Iso but that doesn't seem to help.

BTW, where did you get Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.0? I can't find a good site for plugins anywhere. I know it's off-topic, but could you post a link or something? Thanks.

Re: Megaman Legends sound problems

Here.

I only prefer P.E.Op.S. because it has Gaussian interpolation, as well as cubic spline interpolation. Eternal still has only linear... though it does have correct pitch modulation.

I was going to suggest that it might be a badly made image, but you did say it works on your modded system.
