Um, I have that problem too. I think it's a bug or something. It's when you try to use an element and epsxe freezes up.

Re: Still no Chrono Cross element "unfreeze" yet?

Well PSXeven seems to work well but the sound is not really up to par on that emu so I am going to go tinker with it til I get it just right.

Re: Still no Chrono Cross element "unfreeze" yet?

this isnt a crash.. well.. or something like that

..in my opinion the game "lags to death"
if you wait "long enough" it should work (after some hours:P)

Re: Still no Chrono Cross element "unfreeze" yet?

i also wanted to add that im a little bit angry that my thread got closed and only one of my 3 problems was "solved" or explained.. also i feel nice about someone pointing at my gfx card and saying "this is your problem" .. so what? do i have to buy a f****** new gfx only to get more problems? .. i dont think so.. i am happy with what i have..

now that someoneelse started a new thread with one of my problems ill ask again if someone got a solution to this..

1. the game "crashs" when using an element in battle
(i prefer it lags to death because there are some fps left)
2. the blur splash screen when starting a battle
3. lag in the menue screen, especialy in the status menue

i used 3 diffrent drivers for my Kyro I (or II?) 32mb or
3D prophet hercules 4000XT.. here is a link
http://europe.hercules.com/showpage.php?p=18&b=0&f=1
(note: i have agp not pci, and no tv-out.. i know wierd o_O)
with windows xp prof sp1 & 256 sd ram

(- the latest official driver from the hercules webiste)
(- the latest official driver from powervr for kyro I/II)
(- a tweaked powervr driver..)

with the opengl plugin (the latest of course)
and the two direct 3d plugins

it doesnt matter what my settings are.. i tried everthing..
i also messed with the sound around..

and guess what the lag didnt disappeard.. neither the "battle lag"
nor the "element crash"

Re: Still no Chrono Cross element "unfreeze" yet?

It happens to me too! I think it's an ePSXe bug because CC was playing just fine for me untill I've upgraded to 1.6.0 I guess we're gonna have to wait for the bug-fix version that was annouced on www.epsxe.com

You checked out mysite?

Normally that's because you have it in too high a res

Futhermore, I recall that hthe Kyro cards are among the most annoying cards as far as emulation is concerned

Re: Still no Chrono Cross element "unfreeze" yet?

Yeah, I just tested Chrono Cross. It runs a little too fast on ePSXe 1.6.0, while it ran fine on ePSXe 1.5.2. Use manual frame limit and set it to 50 and it'll play like normal. Maybe it's a bug in the PAL/NTSC detection code?

Mine crashes/lags when I use elements too. Most likely an emulator bug...

Re: Still no Chrono Cross element "unfreeze" yet?

khangenghis, you probably have the country setting set to PAL instead of NTSC. Even if you set the Country to Autodetect, if you play enough NTSC or PAL games then the country setting changes to reflect this.

Re: Still no Chrono Cross element "unfreeze" yet?

khangenghis: Yeap, that's an epsxe 1.6 bug. I suggest you to use PSXeven or stick with epsxe 1.5.2 :/

Re: Still no Chrono Cross element "unfreeze" yet?

Phoenix: Nope, my setting is on autodetect, but I did try switching to PAL/NTSC and running CC to check whether it was the problem. No such luck though...
