Bizarre Chrono Cross CG problem (no, not the intro)

Hi.

I have the original copy of Chrono Cross (not a cd-r) and every single time it tries to show the 'kid' cg video sequence at the top of Fort Dragonia it hangs. It crashes on a regular playstation, a PSOne and in every single emulator.

The disc has a small scratch, so I dumped it into a bin file. Same problem.

So I downloaded a save file just after Fort Dragonia and carried on playing just fine until I reach the sequence involving flashbacks about kid which shows part of the above cinema. It crashes AGAIN.

I'm now rather annoyed and can't find any way to figure out what's wrong and/or how to skip these cinemas if at all.

Woah! That's a weird problem. Have you checked all the help files, previous threads, etc.?

Re: Bizarre Chrono Cross CG problem (no, not the intro)

Your CD is scratched or something
Get another CD, or try to make an ISO from it,
with "Retry on read error" set to 50 (CDRwin recommended)
