Xenogear: Black Screen

I was just playing Xenogears, and my screen turned black. It was near the beginning, after the gears first landed on Lohan. The screen goes black (in village) but you can still see the chat boxes. It is also possible to see red flashes and the such, but everything else is still black. If there is a possible fix or resolution to this problem it would be very much appreciated.

Texture Filtering: 2: extended - removes black borders
Use FPS limit, autodetect
off-screen drawing: 3:Enhanced - alpha~ checked
framebuffer: 2: GFX card buffers - Mask bit checked
Framebuffer access: 0:Emulated ram - Advanced~ checked
disable screensaver checked
