Xenogears quick control problem

Sorry to bother anyone, but im just playing xenogears it starts up and i get to the opening screen, where it has a big X and then the word xenogears, how do i actually start the game, i press start, X, square, circle, triangle select and everything but i cannot actually start the game, when i press X a film starts where the ship is attacked and the captain self destructions the ship (i hope that wasnt a glitch and it wasnt the end movie). Please could you just tell me how to actually start playing the game!!! Thanks in advance.

Make sure the pad is in digital mode by pressing F5

first of all it was no bug, you have seen the first movie,
but you should be able to start the game by just pressing start ot pressing the 'new game' .

Ok, i can now get into the bit of the game where there is load, save, delete, new game continue and something else. But newgame and continue and the other option just wont work, they are both blacked out, it wont let me select start or continue. Please could you help as downloading it on a 56k modem and not being able to play it is agnoy

Sorry, but i did buy it ages ago, infact i got it imported, just awhile ago my cd just spontaniously stopped working (most likely due to me trying to cram 2 discs into 1 case). So i downloaded it, so not piracy. Thanks for your over zelous attempt at degrading me to the level of someone that would not support the gaming industry, that has for so long provided a high standard of gaming, and living for me.

ok, but there is not support for downloaded iso's, not only for piracy, but also for the fact that nothing assure that it's a good, working iso (but specially for piracy

). So we can give you hints till the day of apocalypse without getting anything. If you still have your original disc, try to make an iso image using CloneCD, it might recover your CD (but i don't guarantee anything).
